3 Summer lately...

3 comments:
Oh summer you sure are RAD! Recently we packed up some fun bags and headed to the Beach with  a few jeep buddies. A little burnt skin, sand in places I wish not to discuss, & of course bonfires. Best Beach trip by far.

^^^ You know just a few.....

After a long weekend we were pretty excited the hubs agreed to take some time off from work and just hang out all week. Of course that meant a very busy week of trying to fit in all kinds of fun activities.

Lets just say I'm having a blast vegging out on the sofa & being a homebody this week....  I think we all are.

0 This Seven year old....

Forget throw back Thursday today is Friday & I find myself reminiscing about my little guy. I found these pictures from last summer and couldn't help but get all emotional. Maybe its all these pregnancy hormones going on.... I can't believe how much he has grown over the year. He's a little taller, has a few more missing teeth & has matured just a tiny bit. He isn't so much into sitting for hours and playing with his toy cars or legos. His new thing is minecraft and I hate it. I've noticed that he hardly asks "can you play with me" & I hate that. I noticed that he's become a little more independent... & I hate that! I noticed he had band-aids on little scraps that I knew nothing about. Since when does he take it upon himself to put on his own band-aid?  I really dislike that! I know that he will continue to grow into the wonderful young man that he is becoming, but geesh can't time just slow down a tad? I'm learning that you have to make sure you stop & enjoy every little moment. Even if it's having to clean up an orange juice spill AFTER I told him that I would pour it.....

Happy Friday! Hope you all enjoy the little moments & have a wonderful Weekend!!

5 Lately....

Are you ready to have one big pic overload? Here are a few things I've captured lately. Things have been pretty busy around here. I mean busy like having no time for pretty mani's & pedi's. Or hey, lets just wake up & not brush our hair days. This past month has been awesome fun non-stop. Thats if you think having an almost two year old peeing all over the house is fun. Or if you think finally making it to the top of Chick-fil-a's play gym is fun.  I can't forget the roadtrips we've been taking lately. I mean sitting next to a toddler for 2 hours straight is always fun.... >Now the bragging starts< This girl went off roading for the first time & won the blind man challenge! Lets just say that was lots of fun for me.  I don't know if it was winning cool prizes or just having the hubs think I'm a jeeping goddess. Oh & lets not forget the fact that school is out & I officially have a Second Grader!!!! Bring it on summer!

Happy Monday Friends! Hope you are all enjoying your summer.

2 Death and Regret

2 comments:
It's been pretty quite around here lately. I haven't logged on in a while.... lately I find myself scared to even look at this computer screen.

It's been almost three weeks since I received a call that my father was in the hospital due to a heart attack. Lets just start off by saying  that we weren't the closest. He left us when I was 3 years old.  I grew up knowing my stepdad as my "Dad".  Growing up he would call so often & we would go visit here & there. It wasn't until this past year he all the sudden started to call more often (after maybe 10 years) So it was very surprising to me. I kind of resented him. I would sometimes ignore his call and tell my husband why is he doing this? Why is he trying to call and act like he cares now? I eventually started taking his calls more and I actually loved hearing his voice & catching up with him. The last time we talked I remember being on the phone with him for over an hour. It was nice. Nice to hear him tell me he loved me. Nice to hear that he was in a good place in his life. Nice to know he was happy with his family & that he was trying.... trying to keep in touch with us & he hadn't forgot about us. It's funny how things happen. I grew up in Church. I mean it was serious stuff. Church and God were all I knew. When I left home I turned away from God... I questioned lots of things about "Church" I just felt like I didn't need it. My family & I got hurt in lots of ways trying to live the "Godly" way. Not to mention the closest people we knew were the ones we became to know as family. Our church family. Lets just say they turned out to be the ones that hurt us the most. So anyways I haven't been making God my number one in a while. But on the day of the funeral God showed himself to me. He showed me that he is still there no matter how much we run from him. I found out that out of nowhere my Father just so happened to be at the right spot at the right time and accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and savior. It just so happened an angel was there with him and lead him to where he needed to be. This was just hours before he suddenly had a heart attack out of nowhere. He was a perfectly healthy man who certainly was not into the church thing or accepting Jesus in the middle of Fiesta. It has shocked us all at how fast all this happened and how everything played out. All I know is God does have a plan and things do happen in weird ways. We have to take full advantage of the time we have with one another. Everyone is placed in our life for a reason. Rather we like it or not death happens and  it sucks, but we just have to cherish the time we do have with one another. We never know what kind of day we will wake up to tomorrow.

1 Weekend Recap

1 comment:

It was a weekend full yummy pancakes, lots of playing outside surprisingly the weather was fantastic! I talked the sweet hubs of mine to tag along  & hit up some thrift stores with me. And oh boy how we scored this weekend! There was a little lounging around and watching some old movies. you know those movies where you tell yourself gosh I wish I was around back then... We also attened our first jeep meeting, yes that's right.. a jeep meeting. Only because we are so hardcore about jeeps, crawling rocks & mudding.... It was like disney world, but for jeepers. We met some really awesome people from all over San Antonio who share the same passion...JEEPS! Okay enough about the jeeps Jen!

We also did a little more thrifting which I can never get enough. I have a serious problem. A certain little person is also mastering the field of sneakiness. He likes to find sodas in daddy's office and sneak off & hide. And of course the boring part of the weekend....yard work! The leaves are just ridicules around. Hubs gave in and called a yard guy. Yard guy to the rescue thank goodness!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Happy Monday =D
