Alrighty y'all,
you know I am a vintage FREAK!!
I have been going crazy looking for the perfect little high chair to fit our little house.
Well.. I looked..& looked..& looked
& Nothing!
I could not find anything until I went on Ebay.
Thats where I saw all kinds of vintage high chairs (heavennn)
The sucky part was I didn't want to pay $100+shipping...yea, I'll pass.
(yea, yea, I know I'm cheap)
So then, it happened.. someone posted
"very old & ugly high chair w/potty chair both for $15"
on craigslist!!!
MeeeOHhhMyyy
very old& Ugly???
That called my name!!
I called and believe it or not they were only 5min away form my house.
I jumped in my jeep threw them the money & snatched it off there carport.
(Yes, I know can you believe they just had it out there like it was trash!??
Ugh, the nerve!!)
Here she is y'all...
not to shabby..
for a COSCO huh? Yea I was even more ecstatic!!
I gave her a really good cleaning...
found some fabric & vinyl at joanns fabic
sanded her a tad...
gave her a fresh painting with...
kept the original hardware...
& there she is..
Our very vintage high chair..
all for this little guy..
who still thinks its one huge drum.
Next is the potty seat...coming soooon!!
Happy Thursday y'all!!!
Toodles

Note: The tray was not painted! Other than a good cleaning it was not touched :) a safety strap was later added once it arrived via mail almost 4 weeks later...
omg what a cute little boy you got!!! Good job on remodeling the high chair. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! =D
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with this! We bought a vintage wooden highchair a while back but I can't decide what to do with it! Paint it? Refinish it? Not to mention finding the right material for cushions!
ReplyDeleteYours looks amazing though!! Great job!
Thanks! I know it is tough deciding what to do with it once you have it. So many ideas & trying not to mess it up was my problem lol
DeleteYou are SO talented!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda =D
DeleteLove the fabric you chose! And the vinyl thing is brilliant for making it a high chair - great job :)
ReplyDeleteThanks =D
DeleteWow that is so crazy...we had just like that for our kids, about 30 yrs ago!! Looked just like it!
ReplyDeleteLol brings back some memories huh? =D
DeleteLove, Love, Love this! My mom has a high chair that she used with me and my sister back in the late 70's, early 80's (trying not to show my age here!!). She still has it, but it needs this done to it. Looks like I am headed to Houston to raid my mother's old fabric that she refuses to throw away (which kind of works in my favor a lot!!) and grab that old high chair. Thanks for sharing this. It looks amazing!
ReplyDeletelol You are a lucky girl! I would be all over that in a heart beat!! hahaha
DeleteWOW!!! I <3 it!!! You did an AWESOME job restoring that!! It looks amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacy =D
